"Godspell" may have begun life in a small experimental New York theatre, but it went on to achieve a run of performances and success on broadway to put it in the same league as shows by Rogers and Hammerstein and Lerner and Loewe. Its simple message of universal love and harmony, based on the Gospel according to St. Matthew, was fashionable during the peace movement which swept across America and the West during the early seventies. I hope you feel tonight that such sentiments have stood the test of time.
Due to the very nature of the show our production of "Godspell" has been very much a team effort and as Producer, i extend my heartfelt thanks to all thsoe members of the cast and production team who have contributed their own thoughts and ideas.
