Welcome to the North Ormesby Minstrels

BABES IN THE WOOD 2007

There is evil afoot in leafy Sherwood Forest when the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham's brother dies and leaves his children, Sammy and Susie, in his "tender" care.

In order to get his grubby hands on the Babes' inheritance, the Sheriff hires the most inept crooks in Nottingham to kidnap and kill them. Will they succeed? Well, not if the Children's nurse, Mary Poppouts and her faithful hound, Woofles, have anything to do with it!

Aided and abetted by Muddles, the Sheriff's servant, Polly, the Blacksmith, the lovely Maid Marian and of course the dashing Robin Hood and his Merry Men, there would appear to be a fair chance of success!

Add to this the usual mixture of songs and dances, love interest, magic, slapstick and mayhem and you have a recipe for another Minstrel's triumph to be enjoyed by panto lovers of all ages.

The north Ormesby Minstrels are bringing Babes in the Wood to life in this year's pantomime which will be held between Saturday, January 20, and Saturday, January 27, at the Trinity Centre in North Ormesby.

Offering all the usual pantomime tricks including the dame, the hero and the big bad baddie, you'll find everything you need to beat the January blues at Babes in the Wood.

The North Ormesby Minstrels are one of the longest running amateur dramatic groups in Middlesbrough and the company puts on two shows a year which always attract a very satisfied audience. Last year's Christmas show, King Arthur, saw the cast dressed up to act out all the comings and goings of Camelot.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3.50 for cons to purchase tickets for the show and for performance times contact Maureen Robson on 01642 272241.
